Compare candidates using job-related evaluation criteria
The Candidate Shortlisting Scorecard lets an employer create a vacancy project, define assessment criteria and apply the same criteria to every candidate. This is preferable to relying on general impressions or changing the requirements as new applications arrive.
For example, an Accounts Officer shortlist might include bookkeeping, spreadsheet ability, reconciliations and relevant practical experience. Assign importance weights before reviewing candidates, then rate each applicant against the evidence in their application. Mark legally and operationally necessary criteria as essential where appropriate. Review missing evidence separately from verified non-qualification.
The tool calculates weighted comparison scores to help organize discussion. It does not determine who should be employed. A high score does not replace document verification, references, fair interviewing or a decision by an authorized hiring professional. Use only relevant, consistently applied criteria and avoid protected personal characteristics or assumptions about applicants.
Vacancy projects and evaluations are stored in the browser used to create them. Export a JSON backup before switching computers or clearing browsing data, and protect exports because they may include identifiable candidate information. Do not enter CNIC numbers, unnecessary personal documents or sensitive background information into assessment notes.
Reopen a vacancy as new applications arrive to add candidates or review criteria. If a vacancy changes substantially, consider making a fresh assessment project so previous comparisons remain understandable.
Frequently asked questions
Does the highest score automatically win?
No. A score supports structured human review; essential requirements and evidence must also be considered.
Can I compare several candidates?
Yes. Add candidates to a vacancy project and evaluate them against the same criteria.
Where are shortlists stored?
